NFPA 13 Update Webinar

September 17 Program to Address 2016 Edition

The American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) will present a 90-minute webinar “NFPA 13 Update: 2016 Edition” on September 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time. This program is free for AFSA members and costs $140 for non-members. This webinar offers 0.15 CEUs and 1.5 CPDs. There are significant changes to NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, 2016 edition, and this webinar will help attendees understand the decisions and reasons for the changes to NFPA 13 and how it will affect their business.

With 33 years of experience in the fire protection industry, including both contracting and manufacturing, webinar presenter James Golinveaux is currently a senior fellow of water suppression products for Tyco Fire Protection Products. His current role applies his experience globally in the fire protection industry to develop advancements in water-based fire protection devices and systems.

Golinveaux currently holds 12 U.S. patent families in automatic sprinkler technologies. He is a current member of the NFPA Standards Council, a past member of the Board of Trustees for the Fire Protection Research Foundation, as well as multiple other Boards and Councils including Factory Mutual Advisory, NFSA, International Fire Sprinkler Association, and the Fire Sprinkler Association of Brazil. He also currently serves as chairman of AFSA’s Manufacturer/Supplier Council. He is a subject matter expert and contributor for NFPA’s Fire Protection Handbook, the Automatic Sprinkler Systems Handbook, and the Automatic Sprinkler Systems for Residential Occupancies Handbook. He has also served on NFPA 13 Technical Committee for the past 18 years and has chaired the storage task group for the last 13 years. Additionally, he is a technical committee member of NFPA 88A, 101, and 5000.
